Rwimi is a small town in Kabarole District in western Uganda.
Location
The town of Rwimi sits on the border between Kabarole District and Kasese District, in the Rwenzori Mountains. It is located approximately 26 kilometres (16 mi), by road, north of Kasese, on the Kasese - Fort Portal Highway.[1] The coordinates of the town are:00 22 39N, 30 13 01E (Latitude:0.3775; Longitude:30.2170). The coordinates are imprecise because Rwimi does not appear on most maps today.
Overview
During the 1990s Rwimi, then still a trading centre, survived several attacks of the rebels the Allied Democratic Forces.
