Saguiaran is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 22,673 people in 4,772 households.

Profile

It is a town just outside Marawi City. It has a registered voters of 16, 025 as of May 2010.

Saguiaran is located at the end of Lanao del Sur near Lanao del Norte. The municipal hall along with the PNP headquarters is located along the national highway. Municipal Hall is a huge building with an influence of Maranao okir-design. MSU Saguiaran Community College, also along the national highway, has their demo farm in Barangay Mipaga-Lumbayanague. National Power Corporation Agus 2 Hydro-electric Power Plant is located at the northern part of Saguiaran. Entering Lanao del Sur would mean you are also entering Saguiaran upon crossing the Pantar Bridge from Iligan and entering the huge welcome arch structure with Islamic influence indicating the presence of Islam.

Barangay Poblacion is the seats of local government, private and public schools, Health Center, Municipal Gymnasium are located. Saguiaran National High School and the well recognized MSU - Saguiaran Community High School are situated. Thus a regular early weekdays morning, you would be seeing pupils and students walking along the national highway to schools. Saguiran Elementary Central School is located along the highway adjacent to the Municipal Hall. It is the largest elementary school in the town where brilliant people of Saguiaran learned ABCs but nowadays, some pupils preferred going to private schools in nearby Marawi City. Nearby MSU High School is a beautiful Mosque with tall minaret, this shows how people of Saguiaran are Islam devotee. Mahad Saguiaran is located in Barangay Poblacion and it is the largest Madrasa in the town.

Tourists can visit the Basak Lake located at Barangay Maito Basak. Another tourists attraction here is the Buwalan Mosque situated above tiny hills where in nearby spring provides potable water to people of Saguiaran and nearby Marawi City. This spring has many outlets but the notable one is the one being used by public as water supply.

Tourists may buy special Browa, a Maranao delicacy, at Tata Bakeshoppe along the National Highway fronting the Municipal Hall. The taste has made this Browa special than other Browa made from Marawi City. The Provincial welcome arch is located at Saguiaran, this arch is notable for its Islamic influence which makes it fascinating.

Saguiaran hosts one of SunCellular cellsite in Lanao del Sur.
