The 2003 Washington Redskins season began with the team trying to improve on their 7–9 record from 2002; however, the team regressed and won only five games[1] for their worst season since 1994.[2]

This was the first season since 1982 that the Redskins didn't have cornerback [3] which opened as early as 1991.
