Allah Selamatkan Sultan Kami

Allah Selamatkan Sultan Kami (God, Save Our Sultan) is the official anthem of Pahang. Historically, the state anthem of Pahang, the fourth of the Federated Malay States in the early years, was a result of a competition held in 1923. Dorothy Lilian Sworder (1892–1982), the daughter of the Agricultural Officer in Pekan at that time, sent an entry. She was a talented musician and her composition was chosen. She later married a Medical Officer, Dr. William Samuel Leicester (1880–1960), and lived in Kuantan for many years.

Old lyric

Ya Allah Yang Maha Kuasa,
Lanjutkan Usia Ke Bawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia,
Dirgahayu, Darul Makmur,
Aman dan Bahagia Sentiasa,
Ya Allah, Selamatkan,
Ke Bawah Duli Raja Kami

New lyric

Ya Allah Yang Masa Kuasa,
Lanjutkan Usia Duli Yang Maha Mulia,
Dirgahayu, Darul Makmur,
Aman dan Bahagia Sentiasa,
Ya Allah Selamatkan Duli Tuanku Raja Kami

Literal English translations

Old version

O God the Most High, the Merciful,
Give a long life to His Exalted Highness
Long live to you, our Land of Tranquility
Grant us peace and happiness
O Almighty Lord, save His Majesty, our beloved King

New version

O God the Most High, the Merciful,
Grant a long life to His Majesty
Long live to you, our Land of Tranquility
Grant us peace and happiness
