Early life

Riesco was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, to Cuban immigrants who resettled there. He was raised in San Juan where he attended Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola. Riesco then attended Northwestern University. After graduating, he relocated to New York City where he began to work in local and off-Broadway productions as well as film, television, video games, and commercials.

Among the many memorable roles Riesco has had, most of them have been in critically acclaimed independent films such as Pieces of April starring Katie Holmes, and Garden State starring Natalie Portman.

Besides making a name for himself in the independent film industry, he has worked on major Hollywood films such as National Treasure and the controversial Oliver Stone film, World Trade Center which covers the lives of several New York City policemen and firefighters trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center after its destruction and eventual collapse that were a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Other major films include 25th Hour (directed by Spike Lee) and Fever Pitch, starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore.

In addition to his film work, Riesco has had roles on such popular drama series as Royal Pains and Law & Order. He was also a regular cast member of 3 lbs., a medical dramatic television series. The series starred Stanley Tucci as a brain surgeon in a city hospital which premiered on the CBS network as a midseason replacement on November 14, 2006.

Riesco lives in New York City, and frequently collaborates with fellow actor Frank Pando on comedy skits released on YouTube such as "Rumando Pando"[1] (a portmanteau of his wife Shirley Rumierk's last name, his first name, and Pando's last name) and "MiTu Network".
