Disney Channel Romania is a Romanian language children's television channel that has broadcast in Romania and Moldova since September 19, 2009, replacing Jetix.
Disney Channel is transmitted in Romania by all cable TV operators, including digital television such as Dolce (satellite television), Digi TV. Romanian versions of the programs are also included in packages of cable operators from Moldova, as well as on the digital platform Digi TV in Serbia and Croatia.

Disney rebrand

After Disney XD successfully launched on February 13, 2009 in the United States, the Disney-ABC Television Group re-branded Jetix (France) to Disney XD on April 1, 2009 and it was expected to be rolled out to other European countries in 2009.[1][2] In 2009, Disney announced that the Jetix channel in certain countries (namely Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria) would be renamed The Disney Channel, marking that channel's first introduction in those countries. The change occurred on September 19, 2009.[3] The Bulgarian and Romanian versions of the Disney Channel are broadcast as a single video feed, with two different audio channels for each language. on May 2010 Disney channel Romania was removed from Hot Bird satellite. Advertising is shown in Romanian and Bulgarian; the voices in the ads are only heard on the respective audio tracks.

Shows

This version of Disney Channel, in a manner similar to the Central European one, aims to air mostly new content produced by Disney Channels Worldwide and selected programs from Disney XD, since that channel is still unavailable in the area. It also airs a selection of animated series produced after 2002. Since the launch, the remaining Jetix animated series have been pushed to the night timeslot, with H2O: Just Add Water being the only past Jetix series to air regularly during daytime. The H2O series stopped airing and the last date when an episode was seen it was the 14th of February,in Valentine's Day specials, featuring special episodes from shows like "Hannah Montana" and the movie "The Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs." The new Disney Channel logo, unveiled on May 1, 2011 can be seen during series and promos.
