Palamaneru (Telugu: పలమనేరు) is a city in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh state in southern India, located in center of the south India, one hour away from the District headquarter city of Chittoor. It is two and a half hours from the famous temple city Tirupathi. It is fast growing and nearby villages are predominantly agricultural. In May 2005, it was accorded the status of municipality. A famous leprosy hospital is situated there. It is two hours from the famous Vellore CMC Hospital. It is well connected by roads and is on the Bangalore-Chennai Highway, with Bangalore at a distance of 133 km and Chennai 194. The border of both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are very near to this place.

Kaundinya Wildlife sanctuary is famous for elephants and deer and is located in the southern tropical thorn type forests in Chittoor district. It is spread an area of 357.60 km2. Kaundinya, wild life sanctuary is famous for elephants, mouse deer, and spotted deer.

50 km from Chittoor. Private transport is available. Nearest Airport is Bangalore which is 120 km from Chittoor.

Dakshina Patha Palem also known as D.P Palayam is one of the famous villages to visit. Sri Veera Vijaya Anjaneya Swami temple is famous in this village. Every month during the full moon day special poojas, aaradhans are performed to lord Hanumanji, thousands of people in and around Chittoor, Gudiyattam and Vellore visit this temple.
One can reach D.P Palayam from chittoor or Gudiyattam. From Chittoor APSRTC operates direct bus D.K Cheruvu this travels via Paradarami and D.P Palayam. People can also reach Paradarami and then can reach D.P Palayam by any Share Autos or TNSTC buses or any private bus.

MSR Educational Society
This educational society is formed in memory of renowned academician Late M.SITA RAM (Ex. Principal- FAC Govt Jr. College Palamaner ) by his students, friends and family members in 2001. It was registered in 2007.
Since its formation the society, is issuing Certificates of Excellence for various students for their academic performances along with cash prizes at different schools and colleges across the Chittoor district (mainly at Palamaner & Gurramkonda).Encouraging the merit students and funding the poor (rural) students for their education is the main objective of the organization.
Prime objective of this society is to encourage the students of Govt schools and Junior colleges across the District.
