The Pankhiya are a Muslim community found in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. They are also known as the sunni seikh.[2]

Origin

The Pankhiya claim to have converted to Islam some five centuries ago, and some claiming to have belonged originally to the sunni seikh caste. The Pankhiya are found mainly in the districts of Kanpur, Farrukhabad and Shahjahanpur. They speak Urdu and Hindi.[3] .[4]
