Roc Nation, LLC is an American entertainment company founded and owned by JAY Z. The company has offices in New York, Los Angeles and London.

History

Founded by JAY Z in 2008, Roc Nation is a full-service entertainment company, inclusive of artist management, music publishing, touring, merchandising, film, television and an independent record label. The company also signed a 10-year partnership with live event company Live Nation.[1][2][3] In 2010, Roc Nation partnered with London-based management company Three Six Zero Group, which houses artists such as Calvin Harris, Deadmau5 and Frank Ocean.[4] In February 2013, Roc Nation signed a worldwide publishing administration deal with Warner/Chappell Music.[5] In early April 2013, Roc Nation formed a new sports management division, Roc Nation Sports.[6]

Roc Nation Records is the independent record label of the entertainment company. In June 2009, Roc Nation inked a 4-year distribution deal with Sony Music.[7] In April 2013, after the Sony deal expired, Roc Nation signed a multi-year distribution deal with Universal Music Group.[8]
