Ullerslev Municipality

Until January 1, 2007 Ullerslev municipality was a municipality (Danish: kommune) in the former Funen County, on the east coast of the island of Funen, in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 54 km², and had a total population of 5,151 (2005). Its last mayor was Erik Christensen, a member of the Socialdemokraterne, the Social Democratic Party.

The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ullerslev, with a population of 2,730 (2008).

The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that merged a number of existing parishes:

  • Ellinge Parish
  • Flødstrup Parish
  • Skellerup Parish
  • Ullerslev Parish

Ullerslev municipality ceased to exist as the result of Region of Southern Denmark.
