Excerpt
There are those times when you want to get away right away from everything. You just want to relax, away from people, away from buildings, away from boy scouts doing bob a job, away from everything, away from civilisation, deep into the country. It is when you feel like this you find out quite quickly that such a place does not really exist. It seems impossible to find somewhere that is not near a farm with tractors, or within the sound of a cross country motor race, people riding horses, railways clattering in the distance or some road works building a new bypass. Or those small single engine aeroplanes that just biz round like flies. The one exception to this rule however, is the one and only time you find you have just got a puncture in the front tyre of your tandem bicycle.
