Description
The book analyzes the relations between the Hungarians and the Romans in the Transylvanian region, showing that the tensions between the two ethnic groups have roots in the past, cultivated for more than 150 years by some people (from secret services, political parties, public institutions) interested in interethnic hatred to facilitate access to power and resources.

Summary
interethnic relations, hate, Transylvania

Excerpt
Until 1848 the Romans and Szeklers lived in peace, and the tensions were the basis of the competition between the churches in the area (Orthodox, Catholic, Reformed). The political events in Europe at that time created a nationalism that has radically changed the relations between the inhabitants of Szeklerland. History has been reinterpreted and updated to justify not only territorial claims but also the obligation to hate the other ethnicity. Today, very few leaders see possible friendship between Hungarians and Romans, and their hateful speeches affect the good relationships existing in many communities.
