Born in Calcutta, my ancestors had a long history of service in British India in the CIS and British Army. I was educated at a boarding school in the foothills of the Himalayas and returned with my family to the UK after India was granted Independence in 1947. My great interest in history, particularly that of Britain and India, led me to write my first novel,THE CURSE OF KALI, historical fiction set in nineteenth century India.
