Broadcasters listed below are confirmed to have screened some or all of the matches, with a total of 64-matches that were played in 10-stadiums located across 10-different host cities. The opening ceremony/opening match was between Brazil and Scotland and the closing ceremony/final tournament was won by France who beat Brazil 3–0 in the final. France won their first title becoming the seventh nation to win a 1998 FIFA World Cup at the Stade de France
