Tomoka falls in love with Yuuki at first sight on the train, not realizing that Yuuki is a girl. Arata has a crush on Tomoka, and invites her to join his new band, which includes Yuuki. Tomoka joins the band and tries to get Yuuki to fall in love with her. Eventually, Tomoka realizes there may actually be someone else she has been in love with.

  • Tomoka Takasaki (高崎 友香 Takasaki Tomoka) - a fifteen-year-old girl who is a skilled pianist. She likes Serika.
  • Arata Miyazawa (宮沢 新 Mirazawa Araka) - a boy that used to take piano lessons with Tomoka and loves her.
  • Serika Yuuki (結城 芹香 Yuuki Serika) - a tomboyish girl who is the vocalist for the band. She doesn't return Tomoka's feelings. She is forced to be tomboyish as she is trying to get out of an arranged marriage.
  • Takemi Ogura (小椋 武巳 Ogura Takemi) - Is an infamous playboy. He tries to avoid Eriko. He is often called 'Take-chan'.
  • Tamotsu Nakagama (中川 保 Nakagama Tamotsu) - The leader of the band. He is the bass guitarist and usually writes the songs. Dubbed as "freaky eyes" by Tomoka. Used to be in a band with Shiga Yukio.
  • Eriko Saionji (西音寺 江梨子 Saionji Eriko) - a pretty girl who has a rivalry with Tomoka.
  • Yukio Shiga (志賀 幸夫 Shiga Yukio) - Eriko's cousin. Has a rivalry with Tamotsu. Angry at Takemi for 'stealing' his girlfriend.
