Church of the word

The Church of the Word (Spanish: Iglesia el Verbo) is an evangelical pentecostal Christian church. Its parent organisation is the Gospel Outreach church, which is based in California, United States.

The Church of the Word has congregations in several Latin American republics. Former military dictator of Guatemala Efraín Ríos Montt is an ordained El Verbo minister. The church first arrived in Guatemala as part of the relief efforts in the aftermath of the 1976 earthquake.
