The Colorado Mines Orediggers (also Colorado School of Mines Orediggers and CSM Orediggers) are the athletic teams that represent the Colorado School of Mines, located in Golden, Colorado, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Orediggers compete as members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for all 16 varsity sports.

Varsity Sports

The Colorado School of Mines has also been successful athletically as of late. The Orediggers claimed the institution's first-ever Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) All-Sports Cup during the 2011-12 academic year, while also finishing 18th in the Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Rankings - Mines' second-straight year ranked No. 18. In 2009-10, Mines finished 15th in the rankings for the best finish in school history

Teams

Basketball

In 2012, the men's basketball team was ranked number 1 and made it to the round of 16 where there they were knocked out by Metropolitan State.

Cross Country

The men's cross country team placed 2nd at the 2012 NCAA Division II championships.[1]

Football

The recent success on the football field has vaulted them the upper echelon of the NCAA rankings, most recently coming in at #23 in the AP Poll. Bob Stitt, the Football coach since 2000, has the lead his team to many wins and the football coach with the most wins at Mines. He can be Nationally recognized by his smart offensive plays. The football team was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions in 2004 and Co-Champions in 2010.

Volleyball

In women's athletics, the Orediggers have clinched two consecutive RMAC volleyball championships, qualified for the NCAA tournament in both 2012 and 2013 and have consistently been ranked in the top 25 in NCAA Division II.
