Jason "JR" Reed (also known by the name of his signature character, Lee), is an American actor and musician, originally from Corvallis, Oregon. He grew up in Las Vegas, NV where he graduated from Bonanza High School. He is best known for his association with the comedy rock band Tenacious D.[1]

Tenacious D

He is best known for his character Lee which started from Tenacious D's television series. He is first seen in the episode The Fan. A couple of years later, he appears in the Tribute music video as a shopping mall security officer. Tenacious D's debut album contains a song called "Lee", about him and his relationship with the band. During the touring for the album, he played himself as well as "Spider-Man".

He next appears in the motion picture Tenacious D in: The Pick Of Destiny playing himself once again, but this time as a 'pizza deliverer' and 'driving instructor'. He is featured on The Pick Of Destiny (Soundtrack) in a skit after the track 'The Government Totally Sucks'. He has also featured in 'Time Fixers', a promotional video for the movie, as the 'Time Goblin'. The world tour for the movie features Reed playing Satan, The Metal, A Magical Mushroom, A Police Car as well as himself. Whilst on tour, Reed appeared onstage with the band on the December 2, 2006 episode of Saturday Night Live as "The Metal" during their song The Metal from The Pick of Destiny.

The last time he is seen amongst Tenacious D is the Blizzcon 2010 closing ceremony, where he, like The Pick Of Destiny tour, played Satan and The Metal as well as himself.

Reed also performed in the now defunct band Trainwreck along with Tenacious D guitarist Kyle Gass.

Other works

Reed's film and television credits include a 1999 appearance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (episode Choices) as a Vamp Guard and a 1996 independent film, The Shot[2] He recently was in a commercials for McDonald's Filet-o-Fish and Planter's Nuts.
