Naini Saini Airport is situated at Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, India. The airport was constructed in 1991 for administrative use and planned for the operations of Dornier 228 type aircraft. The State Government plans to upgrade the airport to Category 2C airport under Visual flight rules (VFR) conditions to facilitate operations of ATR-42 type of aircraft.[1] The project is estimated at Rs. 56 Crores and the State Government has sought a special plan assistance (SPA) of Rs 25 crore from the Central government.[2] The airport previously had chartered flights to Delhi by Deccan Aviation.
