Robert A. Altman is the current Chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks, LLC.

Early life

Robert was born to a Jewish family[1] in 1947. He is the son of Norman Altman and Sophie Robinson. Sophie, who died from heart disease in 2008, was a television producer of the academic game show It's Academic. Robert is one of four children.[2]

Career

Altman is a lawyer. He became part of the company BCCI. During his time there he was accused of helping the business buy an American bank and lying to U.S. regulators about it.[3] In 1992, he was indicted for eight felony charges in New York. Altman maintained that he himself was duped by the bank.[4] He was acquitted of all charges, although he did agree to be banned from banking to settle a civil suit by the Federal Reserve.[5]

After leaving the practice of law, Altman served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of FriendFinder Networks Inc. (formerly Penthouse Media Group, Inc.) until December 1998. Since 1999, Altman is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ZeniMax Media.[6]

Political connections

Altman is known for having several former high level members of the Maine.[7]

Personal life

On January 29, 1984, Robert married former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter. Together they have two children, James and Jessica Altman. They currently live in Potomac, Maryland, near Washington, D.C.
