Rory Albanese (born 29 May 1977) is an American writer and comedian. A Long Island, New York native, he was an executive producer and writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which he joined in 1999[1] and was with until October 2013.[2] He is now Executive Producer of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
In the summer of 2006, he joined Lewis Black's Red, White, and Screwed tour, performing with Black all over the country. Most recently, Albanese has been seen performing with Daily Show correspondents John Oliver and Wyatt Cenac, as well as headlining his own shows at clubs and colleges throughout the country.
He is the voice of "The American" on The Bugle podcast.
Albanese's first half-hour comedy special premiered April 2, 2010, on Comedy Central.[3]
Albanese graduated from Boston University's College of Communication in 1999.[4] Albanese is of Albanian decent from the Arbereshe community of southern Italy.
