A. Matters on which there are specific items on the draft agenda for JCB(18). where discussion should take wlace 1. TDR Towards the Year 2000 (Item 7 of the Revised Draft Agenda) On the occasion of TDR's 20th anniversary, the Standing Committee expresses its satisfaction with the Programme's achievements which are well described in the Twelfth Programme Report. The tools developed and tested with TDR support are starting to have a significant impact on tropical disease control and are beginning to play a crucial role in the effort to improve the condition of people in the developing countries. The Committee expresses its gratitude to the many partners which have collaborated with TDR over the years to develop the disease control tools and hopes that this successful partnership will continue in the future. In addition, the Committee thanks the many financial contributors to the Programme for their faithful support which has enabled such progress to be accomplished.
