Acknowledgments: The perspectives, experiences, and input of many individuals played a significant role in the production of this guidebook. To a large degree, this guidebook is based on the experiences of departments involved in the cross-site assessment of the COPS funded Problem-Solving Partnerships Program (PSP). Departments that participated in the assessment were Huntsville, AL; Glendale, AZ; Scottsdale, AZ; Cathedral City, CA; San Diego, CA; Routt County, CO; Stonington, CT; Lake Worth, FL; Miami, FL; Champaign, IL; Springfield, MA; Lakewood, NJ; Nashville, TN; Arlington, TX; Seattle, WA; and Tukwila; WA. Many individuals from these departments contributed their time and expertise through site visits and interviews about their problem solving experiences. I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of the willing and cooperative personnel from these departments; this resource truly would not be available without all of their time and assistance.
