Excerpt: Interdisciplinary coordination and collaboration are distinguishing features of a NIEHS Center. Such interactions should strengthen the productivity of Center members. There should be research activity in a variety of disciplines and there should be a high degree of coordination, interaction, and collaboration among Center members such that the Center promotes creative, innovative, high quality interactive research opportunities, i.e., The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
