Cultural diversity

People of Shahindezh are known to be very open-minded about inter-cultural respect compared to other cities in the area.

Shahindezh is known for its cultural and lingual diversity. There are around 4 languages that are being spoken in the small city.

Both Islamic groups of Shiite and Sunnis are living in this city with a balanced distribution. The city consists of an Azeri population who speak Azeri, a Kurdish population who practice Sunni Islam, a Chahardoli population whose language is Kurdish but the people have more cultural similarity to Azeris and practice Shiite Islam, and a Shaghi population who speak Laki and are culturally distinct from both Azeris and Kurds.

The population is made up of Azeri Turks, Kurdish, and Chahardoli peoples. The city is populated by up to 60% Turks. Kurdish ethnic villages are south and east of the city center.
