WKZF is a radio station that serves the York, Lancaster & Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. Its tower is in nearby Starview in York County. The station dropped its smooth jazz format, formerly with the WSJW call sign, in late July 2011 and is currently a Classic rock station under the guidance of Rick Everett, former Hall Communications PD of Cat Country (98.1 - Providence, Rhode Island). Paul Scott remains on board as host of the KZF Morning Show and Program Director. Carol Seidel remains as the midday talent. Former Smooth Jazz director of news and weekend air talent Randy "Rock" Johnson is now on afternoons on 92-7 KZF.

Smooth Jazz had been 92.7's format from March 1, 2004. Before that, 92.7 used to be oldies format WHBO. Oldies had been broadcasting since June 29, 2001. WEGK was the previous station that broadcast on the 92.7 frequency; a Classic Rock station known as 92.7 The Eagle. WEGK were the call letters from February 23, 1996 until 2001. WHTF was the previous station before that, WHTF broadcast from August 12, 1983 until February 23, 1996.

End of Smooth Jazz and Transition to Classic Rock

On July 29, 2011 the station abruptly dropped its Smooth Jazz format and began stunting, mainly with covers of Stairway To Heaven. The following message was displayed on the station's website:

The decision to end Smooth Jazz 92.7 was not an easy one to make. Many factors contributed to the change, including the fact that listenership never reached predicted levels and revenues coming in were not enough to support the station and keep it on the air. We thank you for being a loyal listener and for your support of the station. A new format will begin shortly.

As of August 1, 2011, the station is now airing a classic rock format as "92.7 KZF" under new call letters, WKZF.
